Fitting Process

If you would like to test ride an A.S.S. saddle please call Claire or Toby to talk through all you saddle requirements Once you have arranged your appointment, at a time that is convenient to you we will then visit you and your horse. We will give you plenty of time to try our saddle range whilst offering professional guidance along the way. The fitting process is as follows, taking appox 2 hours.

Step 1

Initial consultation and discussion of the horse and riders individual requirements.

Step 2

In hand assessment of the horses conformation and gait, including a full discussion of any previous problems.

Step 3

Full measurements and templates are then made, taking into account any bespoke requirements for either the horse or rider. This will ensure that your saddle is tailor made to suit both you and your horse.

Step 4

You will then experience a full trial of the A.S.S range within your usual riding environment. This should be a fun session for you to put our saddles to the test to ensure that all of your needs are met.

Step 5

Final discussion to answer any questions that you may have following the trial of our saddles. We will then confirm any final bespoke measurements or extras that you may wish to be added to your order.

  • Once an order has been made we will then require a deposit. The saddle under normal circumstances will then be ready for fitting within four weeks.
  • On delivery of your saddle we will then re-visit to fit and make any final adjustments. Our priority is the fit and performance of our saddles, therefore this fit may take around an hour.
  • To ensure that your horse continues to receive the freedom of movement which our unique saddles allow we recommend a second check up usually between 1 and 3 months after purchase. This is necessary due to the changes that may occur to your horses top line within the first few months of A.S.S use.
  • Future refits are generally recommended every six months by vets, physiotherapists and by A.S.S. By reading our testimonials you will understand how horses using A.S.S. saddles can change shape over time. The benefit of A.S.S. saddles is that they can easily be adjusted to these changes without the need for replacing your saddle.
  • We are happy to work in consultation with your trainers, veterinary surgeon and or physiotherapists throughout the fitting process.
  • Please contact Claire or Toby to arrange your trial and discuss your requirements.
